Brighter smile

Having a bright makes a huge difference in everyday life. It boosts self-confidence, enhances your facial aesthetics, and makes you more approachable, as it is the first thing people notice about you. However, knowingly or unknowingly, we do many things that cause our teeth to lose their shine and hamper our smiles. So, if you wish to keep your pearly whites shining, these are the top 5 things you should avoid.

  1. Being complacent about oral hygiene

This is no news, but still, many people do not take their oral hygiene seriously. A poor oral hygiene routine leads to plaque and tartar accumulation which discolors teeth and causes dental cavities and gum diseases. Brush your teeth twice a day and floss every day to keep your pearly whites shining bright.

  1. Carbonated drinks and candies

Although fizzy drinks are fun and sweet, they cause the enamel of your teeth to wear down with time. The sugars in these drinks and candies lead to dental cavities, and the added colors stain your teeth.

  1. Coffee, tea, and wine

Their excessive consumption combined with poor oral hygiene stains your teeth brown.

  1. Berries and sauces

Berries have a plethora of health benefits, but their pigments can discolor teeth.

What is life without flavors? However, sauces mainly processed and high in acidic value damages the enamel. High turmeric content curries also stain teeth yellow.

This does not mean you need to stop eating them; just maintain good oral hygiene, rinse your mouth and brush your teeth post-consumption.

  1. Smoking and tobacco consumption

Smoking and tobacco consumption discolors your smile, destroys your lungs and skin. It is best to maintain a ten-foot distance from these substances as it has no benefits.
